Job Description

A Leading Wholesale Company located in Bergen County, New Jersey is searching for an Accounts Payable Associate who will handle the following responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor all vendor payment agreements to find discounts that can be used to reduce invoice amounts
  • Responsible for paying all sales tax on appropriate invoices and making a note of each tax payment made
  • Keep track of credits owed to the company and ensure all credits are properly applied to vendor payments
  • Reconcile payable reports each month to confirm that all amounts paid were accurate
  • Maintain Petty cash accounts and log all outgoing disbursements
  • Monitor and investigate company transactions and all accounting activities
  • Running all accounting/financial related reports for internal departments or external vendors or financial institutes
  • Maintaining all excel spreadsheets for supporting financial reporting needs such as, AP accrual report, credit accrual report, prepaid account spreadsheet, suspense account spreadsheet, etc. 
  • Additional duties as assigned by Accounts Payable Manager

 

Qualified candidates for the Accounts Payable Associate role should possess:

 

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in similar position
  • Bachelor’s degree a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent Word and Excel skills
