Job Description

A Non-Profit Firm located in New York City is searching for an Accounts Payable Associate who will handle the following responsibilities:
  
  • Audit all payables and reconciles with required documentation; works with vendors and departments to resolve issues
  • Accurately processes payables, and distributes to appropriate cost centers and general ledger codes
  • Processes checks and electronic funds transfers
  • Sets up and maintains vendor files; collects W-9 forms and reconciles transactions for 1099 reporting
  • Produces and files annual 1099 forms
  • Processes and maintains purchase orders and capital equipment requests
  • Generate month-end reports and accruals; identifies prepaid items, capital purchases and grant purchases
  • Maintains a universal vendor filing system
  • Process limited accounts receivable, including deposits
  • Maintain individual and detail summary spreadsheets
  • Understand accreditation standards and expectations specific to the department and adheres to policies and procedures to meet or exceed such standards
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  
Qualified candidates for the Accounts Payable Associate should possess:
  
  • An Associate’s degree a plus
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel
