Job Description

A Leading Consumer Goods Distributor located in Union County, New Jersey is searching for an Accounting Manager who will handle the following responsibilities:
  
  • Provide accounting leadership and direction to the department and other groups throughout the company
  • Oversee the maintain and closing of the general ledger for all areas of the Company’s business
  • Responsible for financial statement analysis on a monthly basis
  • Design and implement process improvements and best practices
  • Review of account reconciliations, journal entries and accruals
  • Preparation of accounting and reporting deliverable as well as various management reports
  • Partner with Finance teams to analyze weekly, monthly and quarterly business results in detail
  • Assist in preparation for quarter-end close 
  • Partner with operations, merchandising and other groups throughout the organization 
  • Support external quarterly reviews and year-end audits (financial and statutory)
  • Manage and develop the team of accountants
  • Maintain internal control procedures and ensure compliance with SOX requirements
  • Assist with Ad-hoc assignments and special projects
  
  
Qualified candidates for the Accounting Manager should possess:
  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance,
  • CPA and/or MBA a plus
  • 8+ years of experience
  • High level of accuracy and organizational skills
  • Advanced Excel skills a must
